WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES YOUR STATION NEED TO ACCESS SHOWS?

Your station will need an ADSL, DSL, ISDN or Data Satellite connection (with a “static IP” for the paid service). SYNLINK currently only supports a minimum connection speed of 512/128. For maximum stability we recommend at least 1500/256 or ADSL2,2+ speeds. If you are arranging a connection our preferred carriers are:

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PAID AND FREE SHOWS?

· Free shows are only on at certain specific times and re-broadcast of the stream is only licensed for those set times. Free shows can also be listened to by the general public over the internet and are therefore not radio exclusive.  To access the free shows you will need to take the provided streaming link on the free shows page and stream the audio into your stations programming using either a simple player like the VLC media player or a streaming link in your station automation at the appropriate times. We provide minimal support for the free shows.

· The paid service provides 24/7 content and is licensed for use at any and all times. Its exclusive content is not available at any time over the internet to the general public and is therefore radio exclusive. We provide you with the connection details for a password protected point-to-point streaming audio link. You can then stream the audio into your stations programming using either a simple player like the VLC media player or a streaming link in your station automation. For security reasons the access details rotate every 30 days and you must have a static IP address.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

We offer a range of individual free complimentary programs (Click Here) and

“top up” specialized paid 24/7 access to SYNLINK for $110 AUS per month. You can access

a wide variety of programming in many formats. For more info on what is available,

click here or the ‘PAID RADIO PROGRAMS’ link above. We recommend you combine both

free and paid programming.

HOW DOES IT SOUND?

SYNLINK is delivered live as seamless CD quality audio directly to your studio.

DOES IT CONSUME MUCH INTERNET BANDWIDTH?

The SYNLINK stream will never use more than approximately 10 Gigabytes per month of download bandwidth. This approximation is based on programming being delivered around the clock for the 30 days. If you broadcast a couple of hours each week during the month it will be considerably less.

WHAT TIME ZONES DO YOU SUPPORT

Currently all programs are delivered in real time scheduled according to Australian Eastern Standard Time. If you are outside this time-zone you will need to manually calculate the appropriate comparable time in your area when scheduling shows off the E-guide. If for example your time-zone is an hour behind AEST, and you want a program for “7 pm” you would choose shows from “8pm” in the e-guide.
